Right now it seems as if we as young people have very low standards. It’s pretty much, “your fine as all get out and I KNOW I’m a dime…so let’s kick it?” The hook ups end up being nothing more than a means of fulfilling loneliness or sexual desire and the original intent of relationships are lost. A wise man once said, “If you don’t understand the purpose of a thing abuse is inevitable.”Unfortunately many of us are very familiar with the peaks and dips of misused relationships either from personal experience or someone close to us: "I’m pregnant and still in school.. I can’t tell my parents!”; "I know I’m doggin’ her, but her friend is so much better!”, “I checked his phone and he’s still talkin’ to his Ex!,” I have herpes, I can’t believe she gave me an STD, now my girl may have it!” “We just broke up and he’s already talking to someone ELSE?” These rollercoaster highs and lows are meant to keep you off track from fulfilling immediate goals as students, athletes, community leaders and young entrepreneurs. Raising The Standard wants to motivate our generation to break free of the societal norms of unplanned parenting, poverty, health epidemics and emotional distress that plague our current approach to relationships. Through mediums such as fashion, music, live events and e-resources we offer practical tools to help you understand the benefits of Abstinence (Waiting NOW for something Better LATER) and provide accountability and encouragement through a support network to help you stay on track. RTS is not just another “Say No To SEX” message but its a call to our generation to SAY YES to approaching relationships FREE of common defects while still maintaining your Swagga and Fabulosity!
