So you think, “I’ll just use a condom, No BIG deal! “ We’re taught it prevents STD/STIs right? Well, have you ever looked on the back of a condom box? It NEVER says condoms will prevent pregnancy. If used properly, it will help REDUCE the risk of transmission of HIV ( AIDS) infection and other STD, NOT PREVENT. In fact, condoms are proven to be ineffective against HPV, human papilloma virus or “genital warts.” Folks for those who do not know, you CAN get genital warts from skin-to-skin contact during vaginal, oral or anal sex whether or not condoms are used. THAT means bodily fluids do not have to be exchanged to get it!( so don't think you're getting over by not penetrating!)A lot of times you cannot see the infection because it may be growing on the inside, or in between flare ups.
Oh, and one more thing!!... HPV is one of the most common STDs in the US with approximately 24 Million Americans infected. Though it can be treated through nitrogen freezing, surgical removal with a nice sharp scalpel, laser burning that leaves scabs or it can be treated with cream or gels, there is NO CURE for this virus so it will return. Also, you could have multiple strains of the virus at the same time which requires multiple medications that MAY NOT be covered by insurance. DOES IT STILL SOUND LIKE "SAFE" SEX?
